Amazon Seller Newsletter - July 2012

UK%20SOA%20Newsletter_main%20image.png

Dear Amazon Seller,

This newsletter will cover the following topics:

1. Increase your sales with Fulfilment by Amazon reports

2. New - How to expand your offers internationally

3. The Late Shipment Rate performance target has changed

4. List your products using the Inventory Files

1) Increase your sales with Fulfilment by Amazon reports

With Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), sellers can now benefit from one of the most advanced Fulfilment networks in the world. You store your products in Amazon’s Fulfilment centres and let Amazon directly pick, pack and deliver your products as well as provide customer service. You can even offer your products for sale on other Amazon Marketplaces in Europe (Germany, France and Italy) and Amazon fulfils these orders from your inventory stored in the UK.

  • What are the benefits of Fulfilment by Amazon?
Fulfilment by Amazon could increase your sales by providing buyers with Amazon’s delivery and customer service options. Your offers could get higher in the search results, or even be eligible for the Buy Box. To find out more about the benefits of Fulfilment by Amazon, visit the Fulfilment by Amazon website here.
  • Fulfilment by Amazon reports
The Amazon Selling Coach, which is a recommendation system that will give you advice targeted specifically to your business to maximize your effectiveness and sales, generates reports about fulfilment opportunities. Fulfilment opportunities tell you about products in your merchant fulfilled inventory which nobody else is currently offering via Fulfilment by Amazon. To access these reports, go on Reports/Business Reports and choose your report. For example:

    • FBA Opportunities: This report lists products that you should offer via FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) to be more competitive. This may include opportunities to expand your FBA selection or to try FBA for the first time.
    • FBA Brand Opportunities: This is a more detailed report containing information like the Universal Product Code (barcode), the number of offers, customer reviews, sales rank, etc. It suggest you to find and add new products to your FBA inventory based on brands that are popular and that you have acces to. As an example, if you sell Nike shoes, and lots of people are currently looking for Nike t-shirts on the site, and there is no FBA offer for those T-shirts, the Amazon Selling Coach is going to assume that since you already sell Nike shoes you probably have acces to Nike T-shirts from your supplier and will recommend these to you.

2) New - How to expand your offers internationally

Sellers using the European Marketplaces Account have access to sell on all European Marketplaces as original offers can now be listed in the target marketplace against existing products (ASINs) in those marketplaces. In just a few clicks you’ll be able to:

  • Select the source marketplace and the target marketplace
  • Specify options such as limiting results to a specific category or changing the offer price for the target marketplace
  • Request a file containing offers in the source marketplace that match existing detail pages in the target marketplace

Amazon will provide you with a listing loader file for the target marketplace, containing your SKU and additional information required to make a pricing decision. If the file contains Fulfilment by Amazon offers, Amazon will automatically link the offer to your European Fulfilment Network Inventory pool.
Here are the steps you should follow in order to expand you offers:
1. Go to the Expand Offers Internationally tool.
2. Under List from, select a source marketplace. Under List to, select a target marketplace.
3. Click the Create Request button.

6. Remove all products which you do not wish to sell or which you are unable or not authorized to sell on your target marketplace.
7. Review the price column for each offer in the Inventory Loader file and edit the information as required.
8. When you have finished editing the file, save the file in “Text (Tab Delimited)” format.
9. Go to the Products & Inventory page and choose Inventory Loader File from the dropdown menu. Then locate the previously saved file and click the Upload Now button. Click here for more information on how to expand your offers internationally.
Important – you will need to be able to comply with the rules for cross border sales with your products before you sell in other marketplace – click here to review.

3) The Late Shipment Rate performance target has changed

The late shipment rate target on the Seller Central Customer Metrics page has been changed from 5% to 4% worldwide. As customers are more likely to submit negative feedback if the seller doesn’t ship on time, Amazon wanted to set a higher standard to marketplace sellers.

4) List your products using the Inventory Files

UK-SOA-Bootcamp-DarkCheck.pngAdding new products

On Amazon.co.uk, each product has its own Product Detail Page. For products already present in Amazon’s catalogue, these pages already exist for each product. For products that are not present in Amazon’s catalogue, you will need to add your own detailed product information like description, product pictures, search terms, etc. Once this product page is complete, you can add your price, quantity available, condition (New, Used, etc.), and other details. This constitutes your offer for selling that product.
Your product page will be ready once it completes the following details. For more info on these requirements, please click here.

  • Barcode requirements
  • Product title requirements
  • Product description and bullet points
  • Product image requirements
  • Search terms
  • Amazon product classification
